Everyone sails on the same boat, lands on the same beach and watches the same show. What you are actually buying with an upgrade is when you board, where you sit, and what is on the plate.

Who each one is for
Classic — most people
You get the entire experience: the crossing at sunset, dinner, the open bar and the show. If your reason for going is to see ALMA in that setting, Classic delivers exactly that. The tradeoffs are general boarding, which means arriving early matters more, and general seating in the theater.
VIP — if you dislike queueing
The upgrade over Classic is mostly about comfort and timing rather than food. Preferential boarding, dinner on the oceanfront with live music, and a designated section in the theater. For $36 more per adult, this is the smallest jump of the three and the one most people notice on a busy night.
Premier — if the meal is the point
Premier is a different dinner, not a better seat with the same plate. It is built around a fine-dining menu from chef Paco Ruano, with champagne and wine pairing, priority boarding, the best theater seating and a chance to meet the performers. It is $91 more per adult than Classic. Worth it if you would otherwise spend that on a good dinner somewhere else in Vallarta anyway.
What does not change
The show is the show. No tier sees a different production, and no tier gets a different boat or a different beach. Every package includes the return crossing, and the $20 adult / $10 child port access fee is collected at the pier regardless of what you booked.
