What kind of show it is
ALMA is a live theatrical production performed outdoors in a hillside amphitheater at Las Caletas. It is movement-led rather than dialogue-led — a combination of dance, aerial work, live music, fire and large-scale staging. There is no language barrier to worry about.
The setting is doing a lot of the work. The theater is open to the sky with the jungle immediately behind the stage, lit by firelight, and the performance uses that rather than fighting it.
The people behind it
Mukhtar Mukhtar — creative direction and choreography
Mukhtar shapes how ALMA moves: the choreography, the staging and the way scenes build across the hillside rather than on a flat stage. If the show feels like it is happening around you rather than in front of you, that is the direction.
Eugenio Caballero — production design
Caballero is an Academy Award-winning production designer, and his contribution is the scenography — the physical world the show is staged in. Production design is the part audiences feel without naming: what is built, what is lit, what is left as jungle.

Rhythms of the Night has been running at Las Caletas for years and has been through more than one production. ALMA is the current one. If you saw the show some years ago, you did not see this.
